If Chase needs to throw a basketball so that the path of the ball follows the curve of y=-x(x-3) at what point will the ball hit the ground?

 

ANSWER:  (3,0)

Given y = -x(x-3)   The ball will hit the ground when y = 0

-x(x-3) = 0    ==> x=0 or (x-3) = 0

x = 0

x-3 = 0    =>> x = 3

The ball will hit the ground at the point (3,0)
